What is a favicon?
A favicon is a small icon (16x16 in size) associated with a particular website or webpage. Browsers that support favicons may display them in the browser's URL bar, next to the site's name in lists of bookmarks, and next to the page's title in a tabbed document interface.

Example


First, create your fav icon in any graphic praogramme. Suggested size is 16x16px and save your favicon as an ico format.

Upload the favicon to your site. ( Free image hosting like Imageshack and Photobucket does not support that format ).

Finally, add this code:

 <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico"> 

into your /header.php. Change where it says /favicon.ico to the URL of your icon.

And you're done! :)
